ARCHIPELAGO
Recorded with a couple of SM58s on a MacBook in a closet-sized bedroom in Brooklyn, it is no surprise that Good As Gone exhibits its fair share of intimate lo-fi indie/folk moments. What is damn near unbelievable, though, is that Archipelago’s sole singer/songwriter/engineer, Peter Naddeo, manages to seamlessly transform many of his bedroom confessionals into epic rock symphonies, featuring dense layers of roaring guitar harmonies. Beginning with a blunt two-note guitar riff, the album's first single, "The Mast”, invites listeners to hear Archipelago as the solo project that it is, but before long finds Naddeo’s voice lost in an endless sea of guitars.
